When life runs smoothly and the routine works. Everything is fine. Then suddenly something happens and it knocks down the card house.

You feel defeated and you want to give up.

This is because of low resilience.

In todays society, we learn to deal with symptoms.

Think about it. You go to the doctor for a headache and he gives you pills and send you home.

When the pills stops working, the headache returns. Nothing was really fixed. The symptom was dealt with.

Life is the same.

We eat too much -> we go on a diet
We feel anxious -> we are told to mediate
We are overwhelmed with life -> told to get a hobby or slow down

But who asks about the root cause?

You must fix the root cause to make lasting change

This means you must find out what is behind your symptom. Why do you keep getting knocked out?

How to grow your resilience

Most of the stuff we deal with as adults comes from unhealed childhood stuff. When we are children, we learn how the world works and create beliefs systems about ourselves. For example; I’m not good enough or I have to be perfect to be loved.

To fix these things, we must go back to our childhood and tidy up. We must go back there and find out what still needs to be healed. We must go to the root cause of the problem.

Problems like;

  • anxiety
  • constantly doubting yourself
  • anger
  • no control over emotions
  • not able to express emotions
  • scared of speaking up
  • fear of failure
  • feelings of guilt and shame
  • being a pleaser
  • perfectionist
  • control freak

and lots more..

are almost always something that comes from childhood.
